On Saturday, February 24, 2024, the Italian Institute of Classical Studies presents MeT’AMOrfosi – Love Stories Through the Arts, an event that, following the myth of metamorphosis, explores the different expressions of love in literature, visual arts, and music.

Starting from the texts in Ovid’s Metamorphoses, the myths of Daphne, Andromeda, and Arethusa will be explored.

Specially created paintings by artist Maria Carlotta Quintiliani will immerse participants in the classical myths under discussion. In front of these artworks, attendees will listen to Ovid’s verses, recited by actress Laura Devoti, followed by musical interludes performed on piano by musician Andrea Rea.

At the end of the event, the IISC is pleased to invite participants to an aperitif with the artists, which will take place at the IISC headquarters.

The event is free, but reservation is required (subject to availability) at eventi@iisc-edu.com.
